My wellness community – Kris, Guy, the library, free online movies and conferences. My leap to “be the change”.

Hello Wellness,

Last year at this time I upped my wellness education by watching a free viewing of Hungry for Change which you can watch for free from March 21 until March 31.  I highly recommend taking the movie in.

In the course of the movie, you will meet Kris Carr.  She is a breathe of fresh air and an amazing Wellness Warrior and Cheerleader.  Kris started out her wellness journey finding out she had stage four cancer (which is the highest stage).  Kris bravely created a documentary on her search for answers and a way to stop the progression.  Last month, Kris celebrated 10 years of Thriving with Cancer.

Her documentary film, Crazy Sexy Cancer was the next step in my wellness journey. I went to my library and took it out as well as Crazy Sexy Cancer Tips, Crazy Sexy Diet and Guy Dauncey’s  Cancer: 101 Solutions to a Preventable Epidemic

At the Canadian Organic Growers 2012 conference, one of the key note speakers was Guy Dauncey – an expert on the environment.  He presented a compelling story on how what we do to the earth, our air and our body actually creates disease.  His book,  Cancer: 101 Solutions to a Preventable Epidemic was a 2008 Nautilus Book Awards silver winner.  This award is given to books that contribute to positive social change, conscious living, high-level wellness, spiritual growth and responsible leadership – books that are world-changing.

So between watching and reading Kris Carr’s story and Guy Dauncey’s perspectives, I got to thinking that something needed to change.  And it had to me first.  I then attended the Yoga Conference (which is on in Toronto this weekend) and  I purchased a t-shirt that said “Be The Change“.   I now had the t-shirt and the knowledge to change so I started my own wellness journey.

So this weekend, head over to the library, check out some of these books and documentaries or attend the yoga show or head out into nature.  Spring is here and the seasons are changing.  Maybe this is your time to change.

May your day be filled with visions for your own personal wellness journey.

To your journey,

Jo-Ann Blondin, your 9CupChallenge partner.

  1. Way to go, Jo-Ann!

I’ve found that being the change, being aligned in my work with my deepest values, is a great way to find happiness and health, as a side-benefit.

    • Guy, I so pleased you dropped by and left a comment. You made my day! Changing is about looking at your core values and then resetting your vision to align to them. I am happier and healthier and loving the journey. Thank you for being part of my journey. Jo-Ann
