Spicy Hummus with Flamous Falafel Chips

Spicy Hummus with Flamous Falafel Chips – A mild to medium heat hummus with spicy chips.

Hi Hummus lovers,

I can’t seem to keep hummus in my house very long.  As soon as I make it or buy it, it gets consumed.  This recipe is one that has a bit more heat in it but is still on the milder side.  To enjoy it with more heat, dip Flamous Falafel Spicy Chips in it.  Drool.

Spicy Hummus

  • 1 can of Eden chick peas
  • 1 organic lemon – juice and rind
  • 1/3 cup tahini
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cayenne pepper
  • 8 drops tabasco sauce


  1. Take out your food process and use the “S” blade.
  2. Drain and rinse the chickpeas
  3. Add chickpeas to food processor
  4. Grate rind of lemon and add to food processor
  5. Add juice of lemon (seeds removed) to food processor
  6. Add tahini to food processor
  7. Mix ingredients
  8. Using top opening in food processor, add in oil and vinegar slowly while machine is mixing
  9. Stop food processor, open the lid, add the cayenne pepper and tabasco sauce
  10. Mix thoroughly
  11. Let stand covered in refrigerator for an hour for flavours to blend and the heat from the cayenne pepper to release

Enjoy with celery, peppers and carrots too.
